Privacy Policy

In short: your audio never leaves your computer. Stem separation runs on your own machine. We only handle what's needed to sell you a licence, activate it and support you, and we never sell your data.

1. Who we are

Defuse Audio is the trading name of Anthony Hawley, a sole trader based in England, and the controller of the personal information described here. Contact: support@defuseaudio.com.

2. What stays on your computer

The samples you load, the audio you make, your presets and your projects stay on your computer. Our plug-ins process audio locally (including stem separation) and never upload it anywhere. It contains no analytics, advertising or usage tracking.

3. What we collect, and why

We rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (purchases, activation, updates and support), complying with legal obligations (tax and accounting records) and our legitimate interests (preventing licence abuse and keeping our services secure).

4. Who we share it with

We use these service providers, who process information on our behalf:

We never sell your personal information or share it for advertising. Some providers may process information outside the UK; where they do, they use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep it

We keep purchase and licence records for as long as your licence is active and then as long as tax law requires (currently six years). We keep support emails for up to two years after your last message, unless they're needed for an ongoing issue.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email us and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd appreciate the chance to help first.

7. Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and tell you directly about any significant change that affects you.
