Updating is free for every DYSEKT licence. The plug-in tells you in its status bar when a new version is out; download it from your account and run the installer over your current version. Your projects and presets come with you.

New
Slice to MIDI. A new MIDI button in the Slice toolbar turns your slices into a MIDI clip. Drag it onto a track in your DAW and every slice lands at its place in the loop, at the sample's tempo, so playing the clip through DYSEKT rebuilds the original. Move, delete or repeat the notes to rearrange it. Click the button instead to save the clip as a .mid file.
Improved
Opens to fit your screen. DYSEKT now never opens bigger than the screen it's on, so a size chosen on a large monitor no longer opens partly off a laptop screen. Your chosen size comes back when there's room for it.
Settings › About has a Plugin Changelog button, and Logs is now called Debug Logs.
Fixed
Display could stop updating on Mac. If macOS couldn't show a frame, for example while the window was partly off-screen, DYSEKT's display could stop updating until the window was closed and reopened. It now carries on drawing as soon as it can.
1.0.12
Fixed
Some folders couldn't be opened when loading samples on macOS. In the file browser, folders with a dot in their name (such as drums_vol.1) were greyed out and couldn't be opened. They now open like any other folder. This bug was introduced in 1.0.8.
1.0.11
New
Missing-sample finder. If you move your samples or open a project on another computer, DYSEKT now looks for each missing file in the folders where the project's other samples were found. Anything it can't find shows Sample not found and the Load button becomes Locate: pick the file and it comes back with all its slices and settings, and DYSEKT finds the project's other missing samples near it too.
Fixed
Projects with missing samples lost them when saved. If a project was saved while its samples were unavailable (an unplugged drive, a renamed folder), the missing samples were saved as empty, losing their slices and pad settings. They are now kept exactly as they were until the files are found.
Offline bounces of stems. When a DAW exported or bounced faster than real time, a stemmed slice from a long sample could briefly let the full mix through. Offline renders now always play the stems you chose.
Stuck notes on stop. DYSEKT now responds to the MIDI all notes off and all sound off messages that DAWs send on stop and from panic buttons.
File names with accents or non-Latin characters on Windows. Samples named, for example, café.wav or in Japanese could fail to load or to reopen with a project on Windows. They now load and save everywhere.

Improved
Slicing keeps your stems. If you solo a stem (vocals only, say) and then slice with Transient, Beat, Region or Random, every new slice now starts with the same stems instead of all four coming back on. Where slices already had different stems, each new slice takes the stems of the part of the sample it covers. You can still change stems on any slice afterwards.
1.0.9
Fixed
Notes cutting out in Cubase. In Cubase, every note stopped a few milliseconds after it started, so pads and keys sounded like a click or a glitch. Cubase was restarting DYSEKT over and over because DYSEKT re-reported its latency every time it was reset. It now only reports a real change, so notes play in full. This affected Cubase on both macOS and Windows; other DAWs were not affected.
1.0.8
New
SoundFont (SF2) and SFZ instruments in Keys mode. Open or drop an .sf2 or .sfz file and its whole key map loads ready to play: key and velocity ranges, root notes, tuning, volume, pan, loops and the volume envelope. Stereo samples become a single zone, and exclusive groups (such as open and closed hi-hats) become choke groups. Opening one from Slice or Drum mode switches to Keys for you.
SoundFont preset list. A SoundFont with several presets opens a list of them by number and name. It scrolls, and you can type to jump to a preset or use the arrow keys and Return. Once loaded, step through presets with the ‹ › arrows in the zone list header, or click the preset name to open the list again.
SYNC per slice, pad and zone. Tempo sync used to be one switch for the whole plug-in. Each slice, pad and zone now has its own, and the SYNC button follows Apply to (selected or all), like the other Pitch & Time controls. Older projects open with their previous setting on every slice. New SoundFont and SFZ zones start with SYNC off so instruments play at their own pitch.
Grain size for Cyclic. A GRAIN control beside SYNC sets the length of Cyclic's grains, from 10 to 200 ms. Short grains sound tight and buzzy; long grains sound smoother. It's active whenever a slice uses Cyclic.
Foldable zone list in Keys mode. A chevron at the right of the zone list header folds it into a slim strip with a mini map of every zone, giving the zone waveform about three times the height. Click a zone on the strip to select it; where zones overlap, click again to step through them. Double-click the strip to unfold it. This replaces the old waveform expand button.
Improved
When you play a chord on one zone, the playhead now follows the note that will last longest, instead of jumping back as each note ends.
The chord memory readout shows note names (for example C D# G A#) instead of numbers.
The Low Key field in Keys mode now lines up with the waveform instead of sitting against the panel edge.
The file name in the top bar now needs a double-click to open the file browser, so a stray click no longer replaces your sample.
Projects saved in 1.0.8 or later need DYSEKT 1.0.8 or later to open. Older projects open as before.
1.0.7
Improved
Quicker update notices. The first time you open DYSEKT's window in a DAW session, it quietly checks for a newer version, so a new release shows in the status bar the same day. It never checks while your DAW scans plug-ins, and if you're offline it simply skips the check.
1.0.6
Fixed
With three or four LFO destinations switched on, the destination label ran into the shape buttons. It now shortens to fit: first dropping the rate, then using short names (PIT · FLT · LVL · PAN), then showing a count.
1.0.5
Fixed
Adding a marker by hand selected the slice before it. It now selects the new slice the marker starts, so you can edit it straight away.
1.0.4
New
Reorder Keys zones. Drag a zone by its name to move it up or down the list. The order is saved with your project.
Two ways to spread zones. Spread Zones now offers Equal, which splits the keyboard evenly in list order with each root in the middle of its zone, and Around Root Keys, which keeps every zone on its own root note and splits the keys halfway between them (best for multisampled instruments). Each zone remembers its own root, so you can switch between the two freely.
Vertical waveform zoom in Slice and Drum modes (×1 to ×16) to see quiet audio clearly. It only changes the display, and each mode remembers its own zoom. Click the zoom button to step up, right-click to reset.
Fixed
A held pad flickered back to its resting look whenever the mouse passed over another control. Playing and held pads now stay lit.
More breathing room around the Fast stems upgrade tag.
1.0.3
Improved
Play To End in every trigger mode. Play To End used to work in One Shot only. It now works in Gate and Toggle too, so holding a key plays on past the next marker until you let go.
1.0.2
Improved
Hover help is shorter and easier to read at a glance.
The help line in the status bar no longer overlaps the version number or the update notice; long lines are trimmed to fit.
1.0.1
Improved
Host automation rebuilt. DYSEKT now offers 48 automation parameters to your DAW: 1–16 for smooth controls, 17–32 for stepped ones and 33–48 for on/off switches. Assigning a control to one of the 16 automation pads routes it to a free parameter of the right type, which works reliably in every DAW.
Assigned parameters are named after their pad, for example A01 NOTE REPEAT (S1), and stepped ones show their real values in your DAW (such as +7 st or 1/16T).
Moving a control by hand while it's automated now moves the DAW parameter with it, and every control shows the value automation is currently applying.
Macros assigned to Semitone move in whole semitones.
A support log (Settings › About › Logs) records your DYSEKT version, DAW, system and audio settings, to help us solve problems quickly. It contains no file names or audio.
Smoother animation on Windows.
Fixed
MIDI-learned macros ignored every controller value below the maximum, so a learned knob jumped between off and full.
Assigning a stepped control to automation could shift it, for example landing two semitones low.
When zoomed in, the waveform follows the playing slice again.
Tempo Sync, Polyphony and Mono mode are no longer exposed as DAW automation parameters.
